The group's fifth studio album, 'Arirang', has dominated both domestic and international weekly music charts.
As reported by the album sales platform Hanteo Chart on March 30, BTS's album 'Arirang' secured the top spot on the weekly world chart and album chart for the period from March 23 to March 29. A preview article from Billboard, a prominent U.S. music media outlet, stated on March 30 that 'Arirang' had claimed the number one position on the 'Billboard 200' chart dated April 4. The album entered the chart with 641,000 album units, representing the highest weekly performance for a group album since unit tracking commenced in December 2014. Among these, 532,000 units were pure album sales, encompassing both physical and digital purchases. This achievement marks a new record for the highest weekly sales of a group album in more than ten years.
BTS has also made significant impacts on global music charts. The group has topped the weekly charts on Spotify, a global audio and music streaming platform, for the week of March 20-26. Their album was featured on 'Weekly Top Albums', 'Weekly Top Songs', and 'Weekly Top Artists' global charts. The album's title track, 'SWIM', reached the top position on 'Weekly Top Songs Global', with all 14 tracks from the album appearing within the top 30.
The track 'SWIM' maintained its leading position on Spotify's 'Daily Top Songs Global' and Apple Music's 'Top 100 Global' for periods of 9 days (March 20-28) and 7 days (March 23-29), respectively. All tracks from the album continue to appear on the latest chart rankings for both platforms. Even ten days post-release, all tracks, including the title song, continue to be well-received by international music listeners.
BTS is scheduled to perform at the 'BTS WORLD TOUR 'ARIRANG'' at the Goyang Sports Complex Main Stadium in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, on April 9, 11, and 12. The group will also conduct stadium concerts in South American countries such as Colombia, Peru, Argentina, Chile, and Brazil in October. All 46 scheduled performances, including those in Goyang, North America, Europe, and Tokyo, Japan, have sold out in advance, highlighting their significant ticket-selling power.
